not the change we want

I enjoyed Mark Fiore’s cartoon on the SF Chronicle website today.  Could Jesus survive the attack ads that will come during the 2008 campaign?  Are we so far down some faith-labeled, militaristic wormhole view of religion in general and Christianity in specific that as a country we’d fail to identify what Jesus was all about?

According to all published accounts, Sunday the 15th marked the end of my graduate school career, and the beginning of a new life season to be populated with work, husband and home. Unfortunately, the congratulations were a bit premature. I still have a few loose ends, including an ordination class, to finish up. The real party will start in late July, so we’re waiting to fire up the streamers, pop the champagne corks, and party like it’s 1999 until then. For now, I’m attempting to stay motivated to read 1200 (TWELVE HUNDRED) pages of church history before July 1st. Ugh. Back to the grind.

For inspiration, I’ve been gazing at this spectacular photo of the amazing artwork that graced our room at the Inn at Otter Crest, as the condos are decorated by the individual owners, and thus each possess a unique ‘flair’. (See previous posting titled “Sushi and Sea Lions”)

Is snorting lines of hot cocoa powder off my desk at work an indication that my chocolate addiction is out of control?

‘Cause, if this is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

For that matter, anyone know if I melt down a nice, dark Callebaut, is it injectable?

This is ALL mom’s fault.
